About Me

Last year I got news that my sister, Thanh, who’s been missing for twenty years, was most likely sold to Thailand. My evil grandfather sold her into slavery and she may still be alive. Finding Vu is the search of my long lost sister. But its more than that, it’s a mission to heal a family’s emotional scars and bring closure to a life long trauma. My mother and I are hoping to raise enough money to fund our journey to fill this empty hole in our family........

My Story

My trip back to Vietnam

According to the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, around 80,000 women and children have been sold into Thailand's sex industry since 1990. Our story is meant to be a springboard to a continuing series finding the women and helping to repair families and lives destroyed by the international sex trade. I hope that with the success of our search we can bring the same closure to more families in America and around the world.

I'd like to meet:

OUR MISSION

Finding Vu is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to raise awareness of the plight of those displaced during the aftermath of the Vietnam War.

The goal of this organization is to help locate members of the Boat People torn apart from their families during that period and reunite them with their loved ones, and to combat the conditions and human rights violations that contribute to the continued displacement of Southeast Asian children and families even today.

OUR VISION

As a family that is also looking for a displaced loved one, our own search hopefully will inspire others to have the courage to find their family members that have been missing since the fall of Vietnam. We are dedicated to reuniting Boat Families and overcoming the fear from continued heartache.

Though our organization is in its early stages, with each search, we are building a database of information to better be able to reconnect families. In addition to monetary contributions, we ask for individuals and organizations to involve themselves in charitable causes by making available their business, social or educational resources. We hope that such involvement will be mutually beneficial to all those involved by providing an outlet for individuals to promote their respective interests while doing charitable work.
