..To my dearest friends.., Thank you for taking a few precious moments out of your life to learn about me., I promise I will show you the same love and respect and listen to you if you'll have me :-).., We live in a great big crazy world full of random events that happen at lightning speed.., where the media, commercialism and capital markets drive our very existence...,yet it seems that in most first world countries around the world (the ones where people don’t go to bed hungry at night) we've raised our standards of living but lowered our tolerance for listening .., with this as my backdrop understand who I am and what my short but blessed life has been like.I am a TRUE Californian native. This seems to be a rarity in the circles of friends that I hang out with or meet during my weekend escapades in Hollywood. My father is of mixed decent Indonesian/Dutch/German while my mother is Austrian/German. I attended catholic school throughout my elementary years and at a young age was engrained with the notion that all people are inherently good. I have 3 brothers and 5 sisters each of whom significantly contributed to my formative years. I learned very quickly that sharing and forgiveness ARE ESSENTIAL to ones happiness. My university years where spent working hard and staying focused, and I continued that trend after graduation. Sleeping rarely more than 4 hours a night for over a decade helped me establish a portfolio of businesses around me running the gamut from Software Development Consulting to Day Spas to Furniture Imports and while my financial successes grew through my 20's, I had seemed to have lost sight of the real essence of life...., to live in the moment, to love unconditionally, and to listen to those precious people that would speak at your funeral if you were to die tomorrow.I’ve recently had an epiphany which has helped me transition into the next phase of my life…, What is that you ask??? I’m not sure but as cliché as it may sound, “I don’t know what I want but I know what I DON’T wantâ€â€¦, you see, getting a job, a great career, cars, homes, boats and designer jeans is the easy part…, Discovering who you really are is a lifetime journey…., sometimes there’s roadblocks and obstacles or perhaps its the simple mundane nature of living day in and day out with the same monotonous rhythm that can stifle our own personal character development. We all have walls we’ve built to protect ourselves with from the outside world…, sometimes we need to break those walls down and not be afraid to let people in. Someone special recently told me “Don’t be afraid of changes†…,I believe each and everyone of us should embrace change.., it’s this dynamic energy that will open up doors you never saw before or even realized existed. You will become a better person and in doing so you will love your brother, sister, husband, wife, child, father, mother, neighbor and friend with no inhibitions, and with no reservations. Turn that negative “baggage†from sour past experiences into luggage essential to the rest of your wonderful life’s journey. God Bless You!!!
