ENGLISH BIOGRAPHY :
Raul de Souza is considered to be one of the best trombone players in the world - for long time now! The hit "Sweet Lucy" made him internationally known in the mid 70's and still is a Jazz standard. Grown up in Rio de Janeiro, Raul began his carreer in the 60's with Sergio Mendès (CD Bossa Rio). His collaborations with musicians like Antonio carlos Jobim, Hermeto Pascual, George Duke, Sonny Rollins, Sarah Vaughan, Airto Moreira, ... shortly made him a sough-after partner in Premium League Jazz.
After more than 20 years in USA, Raul de Souza (who also plays Saxophone, trumpet, tuba & percussions) returned home to Brazil. Since ten years he shares his time between Europ and Brazil. Actually, Raul with his group (quintet) play their new CD "Jazzmim" (Biscoito Fino-Brazil/DiscMedi-Europ/RGdiffusion France).
