Soy una persona un poco "atípica" como muchos me dicen.Nací en el año 1981 en Montevideo, Uruguay sin ningún ancestro gaitero ni nada que se le parezca. Sin embargo, tengo un gran interés por las gaitas y me gustan muchísimas de las que he tenido el privilegio de escuchar.Hace años empecé a tocar la gaita escocesa en Riverside Pipe Band (una banda que hay aquí en Montevideo). Luego comencé con la gaita asturiana....y vaya que me enamoré de ella más que de cualquier otra.Mi amor y pasión por la gaita asturiana fue creciendo cada vez más, y eso me llevó a amar a Asturias, su cultura, su música, sus tradiciones... todo. Finalmente pude ir de vacaciones a Asturias (en julio de 2007). Desde que volví a Uruguay no hago otra cosa que soñar con estar viviendo en esa tierrina que así como me maravilla con sus paisajes, me maravilla también con su gente, con su música, con sus costumbres...Pertenezco a Asturias, por más que haya nacido tan lejos... Ojalá pueda volver a esa tierrina pronto, y que esa vez sea para quedarme. :)********************************************************** **************I am a little "unusual" person as many people say. I was born in 1981 in Montevideo, Uruguay without any piper ancestor or anything related to it. However, I have a keen interest in bagpipes, and I like many of the ones I have had the privilege of hearing. Years ago I started playing the Scottish bagpipe in Riverside Pipe Band (a band from Montevideo). Then I started with the Asturian bagpipe.... and I love it more than any other. My love and passion for the Asturian bagpipe kept growing more each day, and that led me to love Asturias, its culture, its music, its traditions ... everything. Finally I could travel to Asturies for vacations (July 2007). Since the day I returned to Uruguay I can..t do anything but dream of living in this beautiful land, which not only has marveled me with its landscape, but also with its people, with its music, its traditions ... I belong to Asturias, even though I was born so far away.... I hope I can return to that land soon, and that it will be to stay. :)
