About Me

NEW ALBUM OUT: COFFEE,CIGARETTES & BEER, It's finally there, interested in owning one as well? Come to a concert, visit www.muze-records.nl or check your local music store wheather they have purchased them already!!When I was 7 years old I was offered to play music in class. I made my first guitar at this age, it was made out of a piece of wood and a big tin can, with a nylon string, It sounded great, my first gig was on the lap of 'sinterklaas' playing a sinterklaas song for a bunch of kids of my age. (someone similar to santaclaus) it was a great succes and from then on I got addicted to playing for crowds! Because of this concert someone offered me an acoustic guitar and I was put on lessons. I started out playing classical, after a while I was playing after famous rocksongs on an electric guitar. At the age of around 15 I got fed up only doing that, I decided I learned enough and decided to go my own way. I listened to music like Jimi Hendrix, Neil young, Steve Miller, Beatles, Wings, Stones and I had a few blues and country records from the old days. When I was seventeen I met Arne Wolfswinkel at school, it turned out he had the same guitar teacher as I had, and most likely he dropped guitar school for the same reasons as I did: to start making your own music. What we had in common was an obscure record of Jimi Hendrix, so we decided to jam a few times. Through him I got to know music of bands like Pussy Galore, Sebadoh, Blues Explosion, Pavement, Silver Jews, Doo Rag, Man or Astroman, Oblivians, Beck and so on. Maybe my part in this musical exchange was to show him that 'the blues can be allright too' as well. We made a lot of Home recordings, experimenting, in what soon would turn out to be the Chimney Brother soundlab, wich started producing from '97 under that name, still, untill over a year ago. We started bringing out tapes and sell them through a local music store. After the tapes we decided to produce on Vinyl, which has always stayed to be the biggest passion of the chimney Brothers. But we knew too that CD's sell better, so off we went with our latest cd's: Rhythm and Blues Rendez vous (on vinyl as well of course) and after that our latest album 'Mick Jagger had Italian Drugs'. there's still a last cd to come: a tribute to Willie dixon, called 'Vicksburg Heavy wheight' The last years I also started making my own songs. In 2002 I traveled three months in the states from New Orleans to New York with my guitar and my bicycle. After this journey I brought out my first own release 'a musical impression of a journey from New Orleans to New York' Since then I started writing more songs as a singer song writer, and released my first solo album in 2005 named 'Out of Town' I participated in a Singer Song writer contest of the Netherlands. In one of the prefinalstages rounds I won a merchandise price. With the money I won I brought out a new album called 'Blues For the Lowlands' It contains 8 of my songs. All recorded mixed and mastered in 3 weeks time cause the money had to be spend within a deadline. My band Chimney Brothers Split up over a year ago, Besides the Vinyl release Of Mick Jagger had Italian Drugs, we're still busy to finish our last Project, this record will be an ode to Willie Dixon (HE was the mastermind behind Chess Records and responsible for The R&B Sound from the 40's, 50's, 60's, responsible for writing most songs for for instance Little Walter, Howlin Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters ... and so on) This one Will be released february 08. Right now I’m releasing my new Solo album called ‘Coffee, Cigarettes & Beer’; different styles of music, some songs are solo and some are recorded with different instruments and musicians. It’s gonna be Folk,Blues, Country, Mexican, Rhythm and Blues. All recorded at Muze-Records. In April I will be touring solo in Germany and Czech Republic and in May I will do a tour in Holland, this wil be together with KC Mc Kanzie from Berlin
