How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor . Harm Goslink Kuiper is een muzikant/ liedjes- schrijver/schilder/(strip-) tekenaar/kunstenaar uit Rotterdam. Zoekend naar ‘pure muziek’ op 17-jarige leeftijd vond hij wat oude fingerpicking blues uit de jaren ’30. Maandenlang deed hij niets anders dan er naar luisteren en proberen de tokkeltechnieken te doorgronden. Niet veel later werd hij verliefd op de 5-snarige banjo. Omdat hij niemand kon vinden om mee samen te spelen speelde hij jarenlang met zichzelf op verschillende tapedecks. Zo leerde hij zichzelf gitaar, 5-snarige banjo, mandoline, slide/lapsteel, piano, ukelele en meer te bespelen. Later bouwde hij in zijn slaapkamer een studiootje waar hij sindsdien enthousiast zijn muziek en liedjes (nederlands- èn engelstalig) opneemt. Zijn cd’s gaan vergezeld van boekjes met zijn teken-/grafiek-/schilderwerk. Tevens bouwt hij zelf instrumenten uit afvalhout en dagelijks gebruiksgoed waar hij ook mee optreedt onder de naam Harm en z’n Bende (Harm Goslink Kuiper speelt met zichzelf). Vergezeld van twee tv’s speelt hij samen met eerder opgenomen beelden van zichzelf.

GOSLINK is Harm Goslink Kuiper, a musician/artist/painter/(comic-) drawer/trash-luthier living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Europe.
Looking for pure music at age 17 he found some old 1930s fingerpicking blues recordings. For months he did nothing but listen to it and try to copy the pickingtechniques. Not much later he fell in love with the 5-string banjo. At that time in Holland you were considered a fool to play this kind of music at that age so no one was found to strum along. He was forced to play with himself on different tapedecks, this way teaching himself to play guitar, 5-string banjo, mandolin, slide/lapsteel, piano, ukulele and more. Later he built a small recording area in his bedroom where since then he has been recording his own music and songs.His cds come with nice booklets with drawings and paintings of his hand. He also builds his own instruments out of trashwood and daily-use goods. Sometimes he performs playing with himself, on different televisionscreens.
