- Amnesty , in this context, is defined as the forgiveness of criminal illegal entry into the United States (or overstaying a legal visa). Upon forgiving this criminal behavior, amnesty subsequently allows for a path to American citizenship, disregarding that American Immigration Law has been ignored and disrespected. Any bill that allows illegals to remain legally under any circumstance, should be considered an "Amnesty Bill" and cannot be approved as Law.
