the adult version of homersimpson balding(but say i'm a skin to get around it)a bit wide round the belt like a drink but luv the wife and kids Quadrophenia started all this for me.Like most of us i had been brought up on the sounds of,Jimmy James,Geno washington,Motown,Small faces,Kinks,"Northern", The list is endless,and i'm hopefully passing the tradition on to my two young boy's(keep the faith lads it's worth it)The title modandbeyond is a bit missleading when you read it you might think "MOD?" i arn't a mod but read again and it say's beyond this is because as we've grown up our tastes might have changed or got to like other music maybe just as much, like the stone roses or oasis for existance who might not be in the vein as 60's mod but as times change these band's would of easily fitted into the scene.The first modandbeyond was hosted on 21st may 2005 at the holgate wmc club in York.It was a nervous time organising it,i'd never done one before had no equipment (only cds) so the search for decks and mixers started i was kindly loaned the decks by dave and sue who host the "heartbeat" re-union nights around york.A all was made to class uk in holgate and everything was done.The mighty johnboy was my hero setting up and getting the crowd started,the first were through the door at 7 ish and it was soon packed to the rafters.The tunes played varied from the old classics to the new classics and a few hidden gems by the likes of contempo,spearmint,and lord ska man which soon had the floor empty but hey ho it's my night and you will like them the next time.
