About Me

Singer/songwriter formerly of The Boys with lads from school. We released an EP, Happy Days, in 1988 on our own label and sold it at gigs. Was hailed one of the best songwriters in Birmingham by Derby-based fanzine 'Empty Hours'. Record labels became interested in signing The Boys but just a year later, they no longer existed. After meeting Damon Minchella, Oscar Harrison and Simon Fowler at a Stone Roses concert Ocean Colour Scene was formed.After to signing to Phfftt in 1990, in which the critically acclaimed single Sway was released the label was bought by Fontana Records, a debut album followed in 1992. Many wrangles with record company later we signed to MCA releasing the single Riverboat Song followed by the album Moseley Shoals to great success. During this time was playing with Paul Weller along with Damon Minchella. After another 13 album releases and collaborations with Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher in the bag well, you know the rest....
