A question taking us back to the late 70s. In Liverpool a new culture was in its infancy. Roxy Music and Bowie disciples who went the match were being noticed for their clothing attire of straight jeans/cords and adidas trainers. Soon the culture centred around the clothes and the match. Trips to the continent following Liverpool enabled fans to return with Head bags full of adidas trainers unavailable in the UK. Before long designer sportswear including Fila and Tacchini followed.
