The Truth

The Truth were formed in late 1982, Nine Below Zero front man Dennis Greaves and Mick Lister headed up the band writing most of the hits. After securing regular performances in and around London they burst on to the British Popular Charts in May 1983 with Confusion(hits us everytime). The singles, Step in the Right Direction and No Stone Unturned, followed. On August 2nd 1984 the band recorded a live performance from the 100 Club in London and released their first live EP called "Five Live". This record showed the raw energy and growing sound of the band with new drummer Allan Fielder and Bass player Richard Parfitt. In 1985 came the release of The Truth's long awaited debut album "Playground" which was welcomed with open arms from all gig going fans and new audiences. The songs recorded were featured regularly in the bands live shows at one time or another.After various tours and TV slots and a USA tour, it was decided to change with the times. Dennis and Mick took time out and went back to America where the Album "Weapons Of Love" was recorded. The Music and the image of the band shifted more to the way music was going. The Blues influence from Dennis and poetic lyrics from Mick launched the new sound. The album climbed up the US charts. The band then recorded the title track for the movie"The Hidden". After touring the USA and Europe they recorded their final album "Jump". The single "God Gave Rock n Roll To You" was released and was Simon Mayo's record of the week on Radio 1. This was to be the last album the truth did. Dennis got Nine Below Zero back together and then release the album "On the Road Again" and is still touring and recording today. Mick has done various projects with (Bad Company) and Bernnie Marston (Whitesnake) and is now songwriter/Producer of Echomusic.For all old and new fans here's to one of the hardest working live groups to come out of the London music scene.
