About Me

The Stop the Violence Movement was formed by rapper KRS-One. During a Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy concert, a young fan was killed in a fight; galvanized into action, KRS-One founded the Stop the Violence Movement. Comprised of some of the biggest stars in contemporary East Coast hip-hop, the movement released a single ('Self Destruction') in 1989 with all proceeds going to the National Urban League.[1] 'Self-Destruction' was produced by KRS-One and D-Nice of Boogie Down Productions, and featured: Boogie Down Productions (KRS-One, D-Nice & Ms. Melodie) Stetsasonic (Delite, Daddy O, Wise (DJ) & Frukwan) Kool Moe Dee, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Just-Ice, Heavy D, Public Enemy (Chuck D & Flavor Flav),NOW our aim is to raise funds for edutainment using the fundamental core elements of hip hop to educate the world against gun crime, violence and other major social issues in the local neighbourhoods, without any discrimination. as qualified trainers of weapons awareness, we will be teaching the laws, dangers and responsibilities that surround these factors. we are making progress to make a take on "self destruction" with numerous top quality and positive rappers around the uk and u.s and other global continents to do this. these rappers in our top friends and in our band members have agreed to do this project by featuring with one another on a compilation Lp. the sales from this product will go towards working in conjunction with mothers against violence and invizible circle education to run a series of workshops with young people. this will also raise awareness in different major cities globally, which are also affected by the rapid increase of such violence and self destruction issues.
