About Me

“BREIS is one of the best kept secrets in British Hip Hop” – The Guardian......A London based rap artist/writer/workshop facilitator originally from Nigeria. He describes his music as BAM (British-African Music), a fusion of hip hop, jazz, soul and African percussion. He has toured internationally in various countries such as France, Portugal, New York, Ghana, Norway and Japan to name but a few. He has shared the stage with international artists such as Angie Stone, Les Nubians, Ty, Dele Sosimi, Omar Sosa, and Kim Burrell. He is also an inspirational speaker in schools and colleges encouraging students to aspire to be their best. BREIS raps from the heart and is a refreshing, witty lyricist dealing with a range of topics that most rappers don’t even consider. His songs are thought provoking, spiritual and infectious with humorous wordplay. He raps mainly in English, but also incorporates Yoruba (Nigeria) and Pigdin English. Hoping to inspire and uplift his listeners is why his name stands for Brother Reaching Each Inner Soul. The Identity EP (King Solomon Records) is the latest release from BREIS, available now on download from itunes.Buy the Identity EP on iTunes!!!!!!!!.......Click on icon.................As a writer, BREIS has written scripts for various productions including Oily cart's "Hippity Hop" (a show that toured all over UK for 2 - 4year olds) and more recently he wrote and acted in a multi discipline/cross genre play entitled Ife(love), showing at the Southbank Centre in July ’08. He’s been to 100s of schools, educating through the art form of rap and has worked with various organisations like Apples and Snakes, Sub-Text, FWA and East side Arts. Over the past 2 years BREIS has worked with the British Council on a wonderful project called Power in the Voice in Mauritius, Mozambique, Zambia and the UK which had 16 schools in each country taking part in a spoken word slam competition. It also involved BREIS leading consulting and training sessions with artists to work within schools. Check out the debut music video for IDENTITY . . . . .A clip of the musical play, Ife
