Miguel Braga, MUSICIAN (Piano, Keyboards, Voice)
COMPOSER, ARRANGER / PRODUCERMiguel Braga was born in Portugal in 1948.
Starts his career in the sixties, playing in dancing bands.
In the Seventies, he moves into jazzy areas, playing his own music with his own bands, in concerts and jazz clubs, all around Portugal and Europe (“Hot Club†– Lisboa, “Whisky Jazz – Madrid, Via Brasil – Paris, …).
Many appearances in TV shows.
He starts in the record business, working with the most important Portuguese Singers, such as Fernando Girão, Paulo de Carvalho, Lara Li, Carlos do Carmo, also in concerts.His own CD’s are: - RITUAL (Numérica - 1990)

He travels to Los Angeles to play with his friend, Fernando Girão, for a couple of months, in several Clubs (“LE CAFÉâ€, “LaVeLeeâ€, “AT MY PLACEâ€, etc.).He plays and jams with Chick Corea Electrik Band, the Miles Davis Band,
Lyle Mays, Paquito d’Rivera, Abraham Laboriel, Ricardo Silveira, Hugo Fatturoso,
Lou Bennett, Dennis Chambers, Paulo Braga, Portinho, Márcio Montarroyos,
Ivan Lins, Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo,
Carlos Carli, Ruben Dantas, Airto Moreira, Flora Purim and many others.He brings his Friends, great PORTUGUESE ARTISTS, such as Carlos do Carmo, Fernando Girão, Paulo de Carvalho, Lara Li, Pedro Abrunhosa, Diana Basto, Paula Oliveira, André Sarbib, and also Ivan Lins and
Márcio Montarroyos (from Brasil) to his new record
“SECRETA PASSAGEMâ€, singing Miguel’s original compositions and lyrics.He creates the “Elis Regina Tribute†and the “Ella Fitzgerald Tribute†concerts,
with a lot of success !He performed with his group in the:
SOPETE JAZZ FESTIVAL (featuring Carles Benavent – bass and Ruben Dantas – percussion),
MATOSINHOS JAZZ FESTIVAL (featuring Flora Purim – voice and Airto Moreira – drums).He presented his new project – TRANSA ATLÂNTICA with Márcio Montarroyos, in:
FUNCHAL JAZZ, Madeira Island (featuring drummer Portinho), FESTIVAL in VITÓRIA, Brasil (featuring Ricardo Silveira), MAPUTO- Moçambique (feat. Lara Li ), MATOSINHOS JAZZ FESTIVAL (featuring Ernie Watts – saxophone) and SANTARÉM JAZZ FESTIVAL (feat. Fernando Girão ) also as artistic director.JAZZ 'n GAIA 2008 joined TRANSA ATLÂNTICA (feat. Antonio Serrano, Leonardo Amuedo, Carlos Carli and André Sarbib ) with IVAN LINS.
