Sounds Like: The one who listens to Luiz Avellar´s compositions and beautiful interpretations immediately notices a particular language that permeates between the swing of Jazz, the versatility of Erudite and the soul of Brazilian Music. People get involved with his arrangements not only because of the virtuosity of his fingers that go through the keys in an inspired way, but also because of the volume, intensity and movement variations that take the appreciators of good music to unexpected sensorial experiences.“... reading between the lines of his themes, he seems to fly away and ends up taking us together to a distant place, very far from the chaos of reality. It is one of those rare situations where the instrument talks with the listener, giving way to a great amount of feelings which are not expressed with words, but only with sounds”. Laura Campanér- Singer and Composer. In a very peculiar way, Luiz Avellar adds to the improvisation of jazz the techniques of erudite music, which the artist makes it a point to improve continuously.Although instrumental, the songs of his more than 15 CDs, identified by evocative titles, seem to suggest what we are about to listen. More than a group of musical notes, set up in time, the music of Luiz Avellar is loaded with feelings. And this sounds very well to the ears.
