About Me

Kathak dance exponent of the Jaipur tradition, Sangita is the daughter of the illustrious Sarod maestro Pt. Vasant Rai Born into a a family of Indian Classical musicians, Sangita was initiated into the art of Kathak at an early age. Sangita received her initial Taleem under the strict tutelage of a Kathak maestroes Pt. Harish Gangani and Pt. Jagdish Gangani She furthered her training under a lagendary Kathak dancer and her Guru-Shri Sunderlalji Gangani Sangita went on to spend seven years under the watchful eyes of the Gangani Kathak parivaar. Sangita holds a Masters in Performing Arts, and was awarded the distinction of two Gold medals from the M.S University in Baroda, India. Sangita is a growing Kathak perfomer and has participated in various prestigious events in India and in the US, giving both Solo as well as group performances.
