I am a volunteer for One Spirit and it is very personally rewarding to do what I am able to help our brother's and sister's who need it on Pine Ridge & Cheyenne River reservations.
lt;br /I have found my "calling" in life and I love it!! It's a wonderful feeling to know your effort can make someone's life better - even if only for a day!
As for me personally - I am a Gypsy at heart, Aquarian by sun sign:

I have trouble staying put in one place - I like to live life to its fullest each day and don't plan a whole lot for the future. Not mine anyway. I have faith that what is meant to be - will be. I know it's a cliche but I believe in living for today and ok, you can plan for tomorrow too but make the most of each moment NOW because it is all we really have. I'm not being fatalistic just realistic and try to stop along the way and smell the flowers, take time to breathe the air and enjoy your life too. If you wake up tomorrow - say thank you because each day is a beautiful gift!!!
Ethnicity ... Other? When one is several different "nationalities" .. what does one refer to one's self?? Human Being! So why am I an "alien" .. lol ... Ayleeann is my SCREEN name.. if you want to know my REAL name - just ask me. I'm a mix of Scottish/Irish/Austrian/Native American (Wampanoag)from a few generations back ...Heinz 57 basically....
Lot's of cliche sayings but one of the most overstated yet fitting for me personally has been - what doesn't kill you will make you stronger! I learned early in life to conquer my fears, both mental and physical.
I like to spend my "free" time (meaning the time I'm not using at the job to pay the bills), volunteering to help non-profit organizations, particularly those that benefit Native Americans (or as many prefer to be called American Indians) since all born in America are natives - but only Indians are American Indians! Any celebrity voices out there that feel the urge to help the most poverty stricken of all (about 40,000) living in destitute poverty on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota - our nation's national shame and something that has been ignored for far too long. Would be happy to hear from you. We need (THEY need) voices for support and to bring the issue back to the public. There is much work to be done. There is asolutely no reason why, in this day and age, anyone in this nation should go hungry with the possible exception of bad politics and genocide. WE NEED TO BRING ATTENTION ONCE AGAIN AND WORK TOGETHER TO CHANGE THE CONDITIONS ON PINE RIDGE RESERVATION IN SOUTH DAKOTA. My hope is that we help them develop what it is they want for themselves - not tell them how to run their lives and reservation.
On a lighter note - ha ha ? I love nature, the outdoors, family, friends, great books and probing peoples minds. I want to know what people believe and why they believe it. I guess it's my Aquarian nature. Curiousity. Life is way too short and I try never to let a day go by where I don't learn something new. How about you?
I WAS THERE (NYC) ON 9/11 AND I AM GRATEFUL TO ALL THOSE WHO SACRIFICED EVERYTHING TO SAVE THEIR FELLOW AMERICANS!!MAY GOD BLESS AND REST THEIR SOULS... THEY ARE MY HEROES!!!Also - have to plug my nephew "Malcolm" he is in the Air Force (love our troops - whether you agree with this war in Iraq or not - they are there because they love their country and it is they who keep us FREE!!!) - he is one of my heroes! People who generally care about helping others. People who have the ability to make their voices count and their efforts do something to improve dire situations of need in this country to wipe out poverty.

Oh, and I'd also like to meet Helen Keller but she is in the spirit world - so maybe I'll meet her on another plain someday --- now there was a brave woman and my inspiration. Someone who could not hear, see or speak, yet mastered all those "handicaps" to graduate college and have a full life. If there is a will, there is a way and nothing should stand in that way!! Nothing!

Musical tastes vary. Mostly rock, old, new, classical - you know. I love Meatloaf, Seger, Aerosmith, the Beatles, some of the one-hit wonders of the 80's (lots of them), Heart, Pat B, if I named them all this whole thing would be bout music... I also like a bit of classical, R&B, old Motown, etc. etc...I grew up listening to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash (the best) and ... the Monkees!!!! :)
