Check and see if your neighbours will let you piggy-back on their service if you are unable to get service of your own! 4.) Pay, or suggest, that bills be paid with renewable energy credits. 5.) Participate in a community clean-up. 6.) Organise a tree-planting and get your community involved. Research what trees belong in your clime. 7.) Organise a bake-sale or pancake breakfast and use the funds as the basis of your new project! 8.) Get friends involved ALWAYS. The more you invite, the more fun an activity will be. 9.) Push for recycling programmes in your church, school, and workplace. 10.) Replace incandescent bulbs with Compact Fluorescent bulbs. You won't regret it. 11.) Send us a tip of your own! 12.)Carpool. 13.)Use mass transit systems where available. 14.) BE A VEGETARIAN! This is the single best thing you can do for the environment and your body. 15.)Organise community newspaper recycling bins. 16.) Drive with a purpose, it's cheaper and more quick than aimlessly going from place to place. 17.)Bring your own mug to your favourite coffee house. 18.)Bring your own bags to the supermarket OR get paper and recycle. 19.) If you can't be a vegetarian, eliminate meat just one day a week. 20.) Send us tips of your own! 21.) Wash your dishes by hand! 22.) Unplug all of your appliances, even if they're off. A single tree emits approximately enough oxygen for a family of four. 3.) The average American recycles less than 10 per cent of their waste and uses around 800lbs of paper a year. 4.) Recycling 2000 lbs of newspaper is equivalent to "saving" 17 trees. 5.) Every Sunday, American printing-presses send out 500,000 trees to the doorsteps of suburbia. They come in the form of a newspaper. 6.)Planting trees on your property near a home can reduce energy costs by a third. 7.) Your refrigerator, oven, and water-heater are the biggest energy-using appliances in the house. 8.)
