"We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fishes, but have yet to learn the simple act of walking the earth together as brothers." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Forever and a day
Forever and a day I’ll always think of you
Wonder why this happen, how it happen
Forever in a day I’ll always think of you
Wondering if I could have done something to prolong your precious life
Forever in a day I always think of you
Wonder who you could have been, what kind of husband and father you would have been
Forever in a day I will always keep you in my heart
For the love that I have for you is life everlasting
The gift the Lord has given me was to be blessed with your presence in my life
My heart will always hurt, my soul will forever linger until I see you once again.
Forever and a day I’ll always think of you
Love you always and forever my Precious Son
Dayo Adetula
Hi to Dayo and the Memory of Joesph Adetula team. Just calling by to send our love and to say the spirit of Joseph will live forever. He will touch many people's lives and make us all appreciate the sanctity of life. Your work is very special. Joanne and Paul WATF UK team.
The father of a Tulsa teen killed in a drive -by shooting says senseless violence must stop. Police were called to a drive-by shooting last night in the 5600 block of North Frankfort. When officers arrived they found 18-year-old Joseph Adetula lying in the street with several gunshot wounds. Police say he later died at an area hospital. Last night's shooting makes 9 homicides in a past two weeks.Dayo Adetula explains what happened. “I was inside a girl came in said Joseph got shot, Joseph got shot. I ran to where he was lying in the floor like a dog... crying." It was a sight Dayo Adetula says he could have never imagined. "I didn't know what to do. I touched him, I said who shot you. He couldn't say nothing- he was just lying there you know. I saw him bleeding." Police say the summer months bring out every one-- the good and the bad. Officer Scott Walton says, “there's more intermingling of people more opportunity for crime to occur." That's Dayo's biggest fear, that another parent will feel what he's feeling. "My son is gone. Nobody deserves this, it's too much, it's just too much." To donate to Joseph Adetula Foundation. Family members have started a trust fund at Freedom Bank of Oklahoma. (82-805-1) P.O.BOX 6538 Tulsa Oklahoma 74156-0538 . (918)425-4381 Police don't have a lot of suspect information at this time. They're looking for a light tan , 4-door vehicle. If you know anything about this case call Crimestoppers at (918)596-COPS....What would you do if your son, just starting his adult life, was gunned down senselessly on the street? This happened to Dayo Adetula when his son Joseph Adetula was gunned down on the night of July 4, 2005, while walking home from a convenience store. The only information: witnesses say the shots came from a four-door gold or tan vehicle that sped off. Joseph was shot nine times. Dayo was at Joseph's side when the ambulance came. Tragically, Joseph died at the hospital only a short time later. The murder is still unsolved, despite heavy media coverage, police efforts, and Dayo Adetula's own attempts to find out who killed his son. Many people, in this situation, might be bitter, or hopeless. Not Dayo Adetula. Adetula has started a non-profit foundation in his son's name to educate young black men about the effects of violence.

{NORTH TULSA, Okla.} July 5 - A known North Tulsa gang member andconvicted murderer is off the streets tonight and so are othercriminals.Police say it's all thanks to the Confidential Reliable CitizensProgram where people can phone in anonymous tips to police. It's beenin effect for more than a month. When people see a crime in progress, they call 911, give a secret codename and the details, and an officer comes right out. Police say withthis program, they've finally broken the silence on the streets.July 4th is a holiday Dayo Adetula will never feel like celebrating. It's when he lost his son Joseph, who was shot nine times just down thestreet from his house. I thought it was fireworks. It's been two years and Dayo stilldoesn't know who killed his son. They are out there and I know if they will kill again. Dayo knows people saw something and he also knows they'll probably never tell. He was once like that too.It used to be,it's not my problem But he's changed and so have 26 of his neighbors. Major Paul Williams heads up the Confidential Reliable Citizens Program. They're trustingus to do the right thing. We're trusting them to provide accurate, factual information. Williams says for the first time the trust is there. So far, those involved in the program have called in eight crimes. Eight doesn't seem like a lot in the grand scheme of things, but those were eight calls we wouldn't have gotten before because people were simply afraid to call. Dayo is happy to see this change in his neighborhood.I would call them heroes. He hopes more people will do the right thing and fight back against what cost him his son.I think we need to stop looking the other way. When you see something. Do something about it. Call in. The police department will train six more people for the program this month. But you can still apply. To do so, call the Citizens Crime Commission at 585-5209. Major Williams hopes to take the program citywide. However, it is still in the start-up phase. He is accepting applications though from people all over the city.
This is a beautiful thing you are doing. My neighborhood has gone to s#;#;t the past few years. They're stripping thesiding off of houses. They're setting abandoned houses on fire and wehave one idiot who likes to let everyone know he has a gun. I am soafraid he's going to shoot a child. I would call the police but I'venever see him with the gun. We our homeowners who can't afford to goanywhere else. Our neighbors our renters who don't care because they'llbe moving in a few months. What irritates me the most is they want todestroy something simply because it's not theirs. That is the samethinking that leads to unnecessary deaths like your son. I willcontinue to pray for you and hope that you are healing more and moreeach day. I will also pray for your cause. Don't give up. Get the wordout...whatever it takes. You are doing what you were destined to do.I'm just sorry you had to lose your son. But that's how God works. There's a reason for everything that happens. Your buddie Peace
