The Big Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Orchestra

About Me

The Big Jazz are an exciting 10-piece band led by trombonist Duncan J Reeks playing a heady mixture of jazz, latin, swing, soul, funk, rhythm & blues.
The line-up boasts a six-piece horn section comprising of trombone, two trumpets, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones; a four-piece rhythm section with keyboards, electric guitar, bass and drums as well as both male and female vocalists. You can expect to hear everything from Cuban beat, Basie-style swing to funky Herbie Hancock.
Being neither a 'big band' nor a conventional 'small group' - the band enjoy the best of both worlds but with that "BIG" sound. This includes the chance for some great ensemble playing and plenty of gutsy solos.
If you like the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra - you'll love The Big jazz - live music at it's very best!
