About Me

www.theidaexpress.com
Hi, my name is Dia and I am a freelance photographer, website designer and jazz singer. Quite the combo.
Unlike most of the musicians on myspace, I am not seeking fame. I used to be seeking success in the music industry, but when I got sick in 2002 with the brain cyst, I knew that would never happen.
Since 2003 I have been spending most of my time creating and maintaining websites for various companies and taking photos. Right now I photograph wildlife, gardens, weddings, etc and I have a little studio where I take portraits of people. My actual degrees are in Music and Theology(randommm).
I grew up in South Philadelphia, eating Ralph and Rickies pizzas and walking to the Double 07 for snacks. My dad ran the bagel factory on the corner of seventh and oregon across the street from that crazy bar where all of the mobsters used to hang out. I am currently residing in the UK, can't think why. Hahahaha. Seriously though, I would move back to Philadelphia in a shot if I felt safe there. I do miss the water ices from Pops and hanging out in Marconi Plaza. I also miss Rittenhouse Square, but when I remember someone trying to break into my apartment on Pine Street and think about the Rittenhouse serial killer who raped and murdered 8 girls a few years back, I think, "I'm glad I'm not there."
Music is a huge part of my life, and at times it has saved my life. I have been in some real shit situations, so without music, I have no clue if I could have come through any of it.
I truly wish I could have had a serious singing career...after all it was my dream from the age of 10 and what I studied for years. But I had to make the best out of what life handed me. You never know, maybe one day you will hear me on a radio station or actually see me at the top of the itunes charts.
Please email me for more information. Thanks,Dia

The Nicest Comment I Ever Got
It is truly, truly incredible to hear a voice so beautiful inhabited by the infectious inflection of swing. You really feel this stuff: what a rarity these days... Riley Godleski
