Sounds Like: ROBOTIC EMPIRE :This band got really fucking good! Complete with blistering riffs, well-crafted solos, loads of double bass, inhuman drum fills and absolutely scathing vocals, Richmond natives BATTLEMASTER have seriously turned their game up a notch with this phenomenal debut! The layout for this release rules and the production on this is spot-on too, dare we say "perfect" for their sound. Highly recommended.FORCEFIELD RECORDS
No Signal : "Battlemaster are more cognizant of the cliches and inintentional humor inherent in...typical metal lyrics...they arrive at an off - kilter brilliance of their own, combining concepts that are ridiculous with an air of triumphant glory that’s undeniable."INDY WEEK : "With a precision two-guitar attack and schizophrenic dragon-breath and goblin-squeal vocals, Richmond’s Battlemaster beckons back to D&D metal, embracing heavy fantasy themes and nailing them to eardrums with drummer Alex Tomlin, whose unorthodox rhythmic ideas and fills are worth the price of admission alone. These guys are instrumental monsters coveting hyperbole."out-of-sync ’Sorcerous Villainy ’ live at Toad’s Place (rva) w/Gwar and Skeleton Witchearly/inebriated version of ’Sorcerous Villainy’ performed in the kitchen of FridgeDive Haus (rva) thanks to Ricky/Tanner/Andrew/Dylan for letting us do it."Mindflayer’s Addiction" live at Alley Katz (rva) w/ Baroness, Catalyst, PYITF,B!
