About Me


Composer & pianist, born in Pesaro (Italy), 1970. Piano degree at Conservatory G. Rossini. He writes music for movies, t.v., cartoon, theatre, chamber and electronic music. His soundtracks for cinema have taken part at Cannes, Venice, New York and Berlin film festivals.As a performer, he likes to express himself through different styles, with particular attention to improvisation and audience participation, with concerts in Europe and the U.S. In 1992 he founded a 9 member band called “Broz Ensemble” who play exclusively his own compositions - these can be found on a 1995 CD. (http://www.pesaro.com/broz). He also plays piano on silent movies (since 1987) at the Pesaro Film Festival, accompanying movies by Lang, Murnau, D.W. Griffith and many others) In the same year he played at the Knitting Factory in New York and in Boston with John Tyson, who commissioned a piece called "The Masterpie(R)ce" for Recorder and String Quartet (world premier: 24 Sept. 1998 New England Conservatory- Boston) He has written a considerable amount of music for animation films: "Vertigine" by Mauro Caramanica won the first prize at Cartoombria Animation Film Festival in 1995 and in 1999 "Pinocchio" by Gianluigi Toccafondo and "La Sagra" by Roberto Catani were selected by Annecy International Animation Film Festival. With respect to music for cinema, he has written for four of Matteo Pellegrini's movies , such as "5 Aprile" Valsusa Film Festival Award Winning and "Tourbillon", CineCineMas -Canal Plus- Award and selected to NICE (New Italian Cinema Events) aired in New York, Paris, San Francisco, Buenos Aires., both produced by Altamarea Film. He took part in "ISABELLA" (as arranger and director of the "rock section" with the Broz Ensemble) a new opera by italian composer Azio Corghi, (world premiere on 9 Aug 1998 at Rossini Opera Festival - on air in EuroRadio Network). Commercial advertisings for Microsoft, Fiat, Tele2, Stefanel, etc. He wrote the music for 56th Venice International Film Festival 1999-2001 (dir. G.Toccafondo). Prize for best music at Trento Film Festival for “L’Incontro” by Vittorio Moroni. Music for Antonio Marras Fashion Shows in Milan and for AcmeFilmworks (Hollywood) in 2001. Original music written and performed for restored silent movie “Cainà” (1922) by G.Righelli, commissioned by Fano Film Festival (Italy) world premiered: 15 oct 2001. In 2003 Teatro Stabile delle Marche commissioned him music for the play “Le Borgueois Gentilhomme” with Italian top-class comic star Giorgio Panariello. 2004: Motion picture “Tu devi essere il lupo” (Meta Film) by V.Moroni, Coèfore by Eschilus (prod.Biennale Venice/Teatro Stabile Marche) in addition to advertising music for Toyota and UN. Several commissions in 2006, amongst them: LUZ for orchestra and “Il Parlatore eterno”, opera for baritone and 7 pianos and a new music for Venice Film Festival. Over the recent years he was invited by many european associations and the italian institutes of culture to hold piano recitals.
