God Save the Queen!

About Me

I am a college professor currently finishing my interdisciplinary PhD in English and history. I already hold an MA in English and a BA in English and philosophy, with minors in French and theatre arts. My PhD thesis/dissertation looks at the connections between the London youth subculture known as the Blitz Kids and the Thatcher administration during the 1980s. My research has made it possible for me to meet some amazing people, including Steve Strange, Boy George, Adam Ant, Tony Hadley, and Rusty Egan. Even outside of my research, I have met quite a variety of celebrities, including Liam Neeson, Kathleen Turner, Richard E. Grant, Julia Stiles, Alan Cumming, Alan Rickman, and at least 100 others due to my involvement in theatre and the performing arts. I have been involved in the theatre (acting/dancing) since I was a little girl and I even got to direct a production of a play I wrote a few years ago. I love writing (plays/screenplays/short stories/academic non-fiction), dancing (ballet/jazz/modern), attending theatre performances, clubbing, going to art galleries, traveling, presenting papers at academic conferences, and all things British. My favourite music includes Duran Duran, Human League, Gary Numan, and Visage. When I am not working, you can usually find me attending a show at one of the West End's many theatres, listening to a lecture at one of London's fabulous galleries, stopping for a drink at the Retro Bar, or celebrating with all of London's beautiful people at clubs such as Electric Dreams, Club Bohemia, Fan Club, and Slimelight.

My Interests

Writing, dancing, acting, clubbing, going to art galleries, traveling, mingling with celebrities in London and New York, the theatre, British literature, 19th and 20th century art, pretty boys who wear make-up and fancy clothes, and all things British

I'd like to meet:

Preferably British or Irish people or anyone who loves Britain and Ireland as much as I do. And, pretty boys who wear make-up, of course.
