Bio:
SEBP were born in Mantova, Italy on February 2001. Show number one: Saturday afternoon in a clothing store centre, a 5 hours jam. They began as an “improvisation group" and continued for about a year live activity without any clue of what they were gonna play. Then SEBP spontaneously started to create structured indie-r’n’r tasted songs and recorded a 5 songs demo called "The Double Party of the Widow". Then the same old routine: festivals, local contests, many time playing together to deafness. At the close of 2002 they recorded a full-length album with Giulio Favero, one of the most acknowledged Italian producers and engineers; spent a lot of time promoting the album to the many Italian indie labels; and in 2004 they signed for RedLed Records.
“The Swindler†came out on February 2005: a record made of “love and hate, between politics and personal relationshipsâ€, delivered with “the urgency of a prisonerâ€. Pure dynamite r’n’r, punk, noise, hardcore in a powerful instant shot – with an end kiss. “The Swindler†was supported by the videos “My Emotional Friend†and “Double Party†on MTV, and received enthusiastic reviews from most Italian magazines and webzines, throwing the band into Italian indie Gotha.
Then SEBP started an Italian tour which counted about 60 dates; they had the opportunity to support several and different international bands such as The Fuzztones, Velvet Revolver, Billy Idol, Mercury Rev, Antony and the Johnsons, The Offspring, The Hives, Pennywise, Turbonegro, Juliette & The Licks, No Use For A Name, Korn, Unsane.
Some date was arranged as an acoustic set, revisiting their songs and turning the usual loudness to stillness, with the participation of their friend Paolo on Rhodes piano; and at the end of 2005 they published (in download) a 4 songs ep, “Acoustic On Airâ€.
SEBP opened 2006 recording the new album, once again with Favero; and then played out of Italy for the first time, in a Belgian tour.
On April they published the second album “Small Roomsâ€: a blowout of dark and coloured, knives ripped indie-core songs, among tears explosions and punches in the face. Less r’n’r than the previous, somewhere slower, somewhere harder, more rational but more hopeless. The record was followed by two further videos, “Feel Sleepy†and “Need A Gun†and gained once more excellent reviews from Italian press.
In the following tour Super Elastic Bubble Plastic played about 70 gigs in Italy and also Belgium, Holland and Switzerland, and opened for international bands such as Mogwai, Dinosaur Jr., Marky Ramone, Placebo, Unsane again and No Means No.
In the meanwhile the guitarist Gionata started playing in an other project, Il Teatro Degli Orrori; their first album came out in 2007 and SEBP gave them place and time to play, while preparing the next record. In April 2008 SEBP played, for the third time, six dates in Belgium.
The third album of the band is in preparation, meant to come out in October 2008.
