The Deptford Saints

The Deptford Saints are a new grouping of, mainly, old mates, instigated by the Jook, to make some non-conformist rhythm and blues and have a few beers. Recording the forthcoming Deptford Saints CD commenced successfully on the 3rd of May at AP Multimedia's Plumstead Studios, and is ongoing, with the major, full band sessions taking place this Summer.
The Jook's solo CD of delta-style songs played on various resonator guitars is being recorded simultaneously, and these tracks are at present availbale for free download at www.deptfordsaints.com where you can also read the Jook's blog regarding the recording process, amongst other topics.
The tracks that are at present available on this MySpace page are from a previous album, Yella Cross The Dog, which is a kind of pre-history of the Deptford Saints, done by the Jook and Travelling Trevor Bailey. We have received numerous kind and favourable comments regarding these tracks, and, as a result, this album will be available for free download on www.deptfordsaints.com in the near future.
New Deptford Saints' tracks will be posted later this year as they are completed. The Deptford Saints want to thank all their MySpace friends and everyone else who has visited this page and our website for their support and comments. We have had enquiries about airplay and live work, for which we are very grateful - free promo CDs will be sent out to any radio station on request. The Jook's solo album and the Yella Cross The Dog album will be available to be mailed very soon. We will happily keep the addresses of all interested radio stations on file and mail out the forthcoming album Deptford Saints' album as soon as it becomes available later this year.
We regret that we are not planning any live work until the new CD is complete.
