About Me

I was born in Voghera (Pavia – Italy) in 1978, I began to study saxophone at 12 years old at Centro Didattico Musicale Italiano and with the city band. I had been studying sax, flute and harmony with M. Massimo Maltese, Umberto Petrin, Achille Succi, Chris Speed and at Siena Jazz and Umbria Jazz Workshops. In 2002 I graduated in Electronics Engineering at University of Pavia. In the field of jazz music I palyed in Big Band and in many standards groups like Soul&Soul Quintet (play the music of Rollins, Adderley and Davis), an omage to Duke Ellington and made up his new original trio: Places of Dance. I have participated in various jazz festivals throughout Italy and Europe. Apart from jazz I’m very fond of in free music, advangarde and electronic music, my points main interests are Ornette Coleman, John Zorn, Tim Berne, Steve Coleman; I have also, as improviser and composer, constantly adapted more and more creativity sources from worldwide arts and languages (dance, poetry, cinema) and in particular from oriental culture. I have recorded 2 albums as a leader: “Places of Dance” and “Memories of Duke Ellington”.
