Pepe Vaamonde Grupo is a folk band thought for live performances. The quality of its musicians, along with the moving force of its songs, turns them into one of the most interesting folk bands playing in Galiza at present. Their last album, Onde nace o vento, is made up of eleven songs where, like in their first album, traditional sounds of Galician music and current European folk sounds are mixed together. If the first CD of Pepe Vaamonde Grupo, Aviouga, had water as its inspiring topic, its second album is dedicated to the wind. The wind that inspires all the album songs makes the pipes, flutes and accordion sound, and blowing through the band’s chords gives percussion deep as well as gentleness to the guitars. We hope you like it.
