About Me

FORMER TOURING KEYBOARDIST FOR JANE'S ADDICTION AND THE MARS VOLTA, Linda Good's adventure in music has cut a wide path as a songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. She has also performed with Bitter:Sweet (Quango), Stew (of The Negro Problem), the Lisa Marie Presley Band and Wisely, as well as lent her vocal tracks to the Pushstars' last studio record, "Paint the Town" (33rd Street Records.) HER MUSIC HAS BEEN FEATURED IN FILMS AND TV including "Entourage" (HBO), "Men in Trees" (ABC), "Emily's Reasons Why Not" (ABC), Gossip Girls (CW,) Cruel Intentions 3 (Sony), Summerland (WB) and "Curl Girls" (MTV/LOGO.) She has written and co-produced three critically acclaimed CDs with her band, The Twigs (with her twin sister Laura), "You Say Ah," "The Universe Tonight" and "Bring Me the Head of Eternity," co-produced by Johnny K (Plain White T's, 3 Doors Down). She also just produced an album for the alt-country duo THE SHAKER SISTERS. PLAYING NEARLY ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS ON THE RECORD, Linda's solo record showcases a wide variety of vintage keys including mellotron and analog synths, as well as guitar, bass and percussion. She writes, arranges and produces all of the songs. "Love Is..." features drums by Brian Young (Fountains of Wayne), DJ cuts by True:129 and background vocals by KCRW DJ Jason Eldredge. "Life is a Ride" features musical pals The Submarines on background vocals, Dave Wilder on bass and drums by Pete McNeal (Mike Doughty, Z-Trip, Cake.) An extra version of her song "A Dog is A Dog" sung entirely in French ("Un Chien est un Chien.") wil be released later this year. Her songwriting influences stem from Burt Bacharach to Todd Rundgren to the Kinks, with comparisons to Dusty Springfield rounding out the mix. And how does her work playing with some of todays hardest rock bands come into the fold? Playing and listening to widely dissonant styles of music feels pretty natural to me. I grew up with my older sisters Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix records next to my Flock of Seagulls and Crowded House CDs. A self-taught pianist and guitarist since age five, Linda spent her early childhood living in Mexico with her four sisters, where a fascination with Latin music began. After moving back to the US and growing up in Chicago, she, and her twin sister Laura, started performing together in bands in high school. Linda also attended the Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts High School. College later separated the twins where Linda spent time in the UK at college in Wales, and immersed herself in everything British--including old Clash and ska records. A weird mix of punk, funk and old jazz filled out her steady diet of listening to Neil Young and Elvis Costello and the Beatles. UPDATES: James Combs and I with our PLUSH INTERIORS project wrote a track for the "AMERICAN TEEN" documentary (screened at Sundance '08)and will be included on the Soundtrack Album...and our PLUSH INTERIORS video of "LATELY I WONDER" now out! Look for Linda on the "SONY/ATV Covers Project, Vol 1." with a cover of Willie Nelson's "Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain.""Lately I Wonder" by The Plush Interiors
