December 1989: Fanzine "Silhobbiton" created by Canterbury art student Chorlton Cumardi - 200 issues photocopied
January 1991: A name change to "Silhobbit", and a new mis-spelt logo designed by 'My Little Pony' artist Pete Nicholls sees sales rocket to 500 of issue 3 and magazine is sold to Ball Boy Print plc
May 1991: Magazine has facelift for issue 4 and features a free flexi-dik giveaway featuring Yes and The Enid. Edited by Robert Ball
April 1992: New Editor Charlie O'Mara buys magazine and debts for £1. Issue 8 hits the streets.
May 1996: After 33 issues the magazine closes due to expensive court battle with SI Magazine.
Silhobbit bankrupt owing £4000
January 2000: Silhobbit rises from the ashes like Pheonix - This time as a web based portal at www.silhobbit.com
January 2002: Silhobbit.com gets huge financial investment and backing enables complete re-vamp of www.silhobbit.com !
May 2002: Launch of Silhobbit's "Sil-Lotto" prize winning game. Over 800 progkids register in the first week.
June 2005: Launch of Silhobbit's MySpace page here
