BLACK WIDOW is a classic UK rock band from the early 1970's and for a while it seemed they were going to be huge. I have a strong interest towards this great mystical underrated band. The origins of Black Widow were on a psychedelic group Pesky Gee! which released one very recommended album in 1969. Black Widow's stage shows were very theatrical including Black Magic story and their 1970 hit song "Come To The Sabbat" has been covered many times. Later on Black Widow abandoned the Black Magic theme concentrating more on good melodic songwriting including multi-part vocal harmonies while still retaining its hard rock sound. The friends of early 1970's hard, mystical and melodic British sound should like this group. My blogs include all the links I know telling the story of this band and its follow-up group AGONY BAG. A couple of AGONY BAG (a band which included two Clives from the original Black Widow line-up) pictures used here are by the kind permission of PHIL MULVANEY - Phil is an amazing rock photographer (website: www.rokpix.co.uk). For more Agony Bag pics: www.agonybag.co.uk - included is also a biography of this cult band! Their 1980 single "Rabies Is A Killer"/"Never Never Land" is a classic. The year 2000 saw a BLACK WIDOW TRIBUTE ALBUM release and a couple of lost classics and recent remasters have also seen a light of day so it seems The World has re-discovered Black Widow after so many years in obscurity. Right now the band has a very healthy fanbase. All my BLACK WIDOW news and facts to be seen here are true! There is a NEW LIVE DVD out from 1970 concert and NEW BLACK WIDOW SONGS are being written...the material is amazing! I have a direct contact to Black Widow's Clive Jones, Geoff Griffith and some other members so I know all the time what is happening so please stay tuned and check my blogs.
