About Me

There are no unmixed blessings in life.-Irish ProverbI've always loved school, so I've prolonged "studenthood" as long as possible. I've always been drawn to deviants because they entertain me best. I worked in a really swanky martini bar back in the day. In fact, if it weren't for my stint as a cocktail waitress, I might not have crossed paths with the father of my delightful little boy (who, with each passing day, further confirms my belief that he is the male version of me). :) I shilled makeup for 5 years. I've been a social/political activist since I was 16. I hated every shade of pink as a child, but now find myself irresistibly drawn to fuchsia. Though I generally avoid conservatives (fiscal, social, etc.), I've learned to appreciate ANY/ALL persons with any appreciable degree of intellect (and, yes, SOME conservatives demonstrate such) and/or those with passion for/belief in SOMETHING. Folks devoid of passion and beliefs are, for all intents and purposes, the living dead. I see myself as both a fiscal and social liberal; political compass assessments peg me a "Commie." I have 2 Lab/Pit Bull-mixed dogs; I also have 2 cats. I've been a hair dye devotee since the age of 18. Some concluding trivia: My grandfather gave up boxing to win my Nana's hand in marriage, I recently became a vegetarian after 3 decades of staunch omnivory, and Johnny Cash and I were both born on February 26th.
