About Me

Peace North is a group of concerned citizens in the northwest Wisconsin area.Our mission is to promote a world of peace and justice.We actively:Train for and promote non-violent conflict resolution; are visible in our communities witnessing for peace and; educate and motivate our fellow citizens and elected decision makers by:Educating ourselves so that we can teach others; Disseminating up-to-date information about peace and social justice activities by the use of: printed materials such as brocures and posters; web and electronic communications; radio and newspapers public relations; letter writing efforts to local newspapers and decision makers; discussing issues with friends, neighbors and acquaintances when appropriate and; public events such as movies, workshops, bus trips, music and art shows, etc. networking with other groups to accomplish our mission and; seeking the support of local religious groups.Site Info Peace North's Web site has been in operation since early March 2003. (Peacenorth.org)Meetings: Our business meetings take place on the second Sunday of the month at 3:00 PM at the Sawmill Saloon in beautiful downtown Seeley, WI. Check our events calender for current meeting times.All interested persons are welcome.Our group does not give wholesale support to any one political party. Instead we work for issues that support our mission.We then may choose to educate people about candidates who are aligned with our philosophies regardless of their affiliation.We encourage our members and the general public to actively support the candidates of their choice.Movies & Documentaries:We sponsor a series of movie nights. These showings feature a variety of feature films and documentaries that would otherwise be difficult to obtain or are not otherwise well publicized.Reading for Peace:Peace North sponsors peace studies shelves at local libraries. Our "Reading for Peace" program has donated books to the Hayward Carnegie Library, The Drummond Public Library, and the Forest Lodge Library of Cable.
