Glennisha is a Detroit native who has always had a passion for writing every since she learned how to write. During her younger days she wrote short stories, plays, poems, and she kept a diary. When her elementary school started a newspaper, The Paul Robeson Herald, she was ecstatic. From then she went on to write for her middle school's newspaper (Best Bear News), then her high school's newspaper and yearbook (The Eagle & The Talon). She's interned for The Record Magazine and Q95.5, and has been published in Enlightened Visions Magazine, Guidepost for Teens Magazine, The South End Newspaper, and The Michigan Front Page.During her junior year of high school she traveled to Gainesville, Florida to attend the University of Florida's Summer Journalism Institute where she studied online journalism and web site design. During her senior year of high school she had the wonderful opportunity to shadow a few news reporters, Marcella Lee and Derrick Dennis from Detroit’s WDIV, along with Detroit Free Press' columnist Rochelle Riley. She's currently attending Kaplan University majoring in Communications with a focus in Technical Writing. In 2008 she will be graduating with a B.S.She freelances about culture, politics, society, women’s issues, and whatever her heart leads her to. In addition to freelancing she is the Editor-In-Chief of JSL Magazine, which she will release sometime in 2008. She's currently working on 2 books that she hopes to publish soon. Besides writing she enjoys being active in her community. She's a human rights activist and an advocate of diversity. Documentary film making, the French language, and playing the guitar are a part of her other interests. She hopes to someday change the world through her writing and activism.
