Layout by CoolChaser In the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide of 1994 and due to landmines, accidents, birth defects and medical malpractice, Rwanda is home to over 800,000 disabled individuals. Having a heart for the disabled and a desire to assist this under privileged population, Mr. Gatera Rudasingwa (who is also handicapped) and his wife Mami Yoshida Rudasingwa founded the MULINDI/JAPAN ONE LOVE PROJECT in Kigali, Rwanda in 1997. The mission of the MULINDI/JAPAN ONE LOVE PROJECT is to physically and mentally rehabilitate and economically restore competency and self reliance for Rwanda’s and surrounding countries handicapped communities. Since its emergence, the project has aided over 5000 disabled individuals by providing artificial limbs, walking sticks, wheelchairs and other needed material absolutely FREE! The project has also launched the Federation for Disabled People and the Federation of Sports for Disabled People. In an effort to generate more income to maintain and expand the project, guesthouses and restaurants have been built on what is known as ONE LOVE LAND (which is also the location for the newly built Orthopaedic Workshop and Conference Center and Vocational Training School) As much as Mr. and Mrs. Rudasingwa have done for the handicapped population with in Central Africa, they still need financial support and man power through volunteerism; they need sponsorship and aid from supportors like YOU. To find out more about the MULINDI/JAPAN ONE LOVE PROJECT and how you can help in providing theses needed services please visit them at WWW.ONELOVEPROJECT.COM Thanks again for your interest and taking the time to read and find out more about the project. Together, we can make a difference... PS: tell them Candace from Miami refered you. Myspace I Love You Comments & Graphics
