Grown folks music. Music to make you think like old jazz by artists like Sarah Vaughn. I love John Legend, Gato Barberi, Boney James, as well as R&B, Phyllis Hyman, Phoebe Snow, Maysa, Zein Simone, Billy Miles, Carmen Lundy, plenty of oldies, some rap (only if my son writes it and performs it of course!), and without a doubt Reggae: Damian Marley (love his music!!), Bob Marley, Peter Tosh (God rest his soul). Not into kiddy bubble gum rap and wouldn't be even if I were sixteen! Been listening to grown folks music all my life!
Any thought provoking movie is cool with me. I like anything Denzel stars in, particularly DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS. The Color Purple is forever burned into my mind, First Wives Club for serious laughs if you're smart enough to get it!
I mostly enjoy Who-Done-It types of tv shows like Law & Order particularly SVU. I like CSI New York and Miami as well. Mafia movies!!, (I just love organized crime) It's so much sexier than disorganized crime! Don't you agree?
I READ JUST ABOUT ANYTHING! BUT I LOVE A STORY WITH A STRONG MESSAGE, A RACEY STORY LINE AND A SPETACULAR FINISH. "THE ADVENTURERS" BY HAROLD ROBBINS COMES TO MIND RIGHT NOW. ALSO MARY MONROE, E. LYNN HARRIS, LOLITA FILES, AND THE MANY AFRICAN AMERICAN WRITERS THAT ARE OUT RIGHT NOW. THIS IS AN EXCITING TIME FOR US.
