Music:

Mainly 1960s folk-rock, folk music, traditional country music, some blues music, mid-1980s bubblegum music, the music of Aaron Copland, and anything by Bob Dylan and Kate Bush.I also like Jake Berry, Sandy Denny, Robin Williamson, Clifford T. Ward, Burt Jansch, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Richard Thompson, The Band, Tori Amos, Joanna Newsom, Lou Reed, Nico, Cyndi Lauper, Neil Young, Linda Thompson, Martin Simpson, Martin Carthy, Fairport Convention, The Incredible String Band, Roy Harper, Ralph McTell, Pentangle, Steeleye Span, Ronnee Blakely, Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams.I also like some film music especially by John Williams, Alfred Newman, Bernard Hermann and vintage Maurice Jarre.

Movies:

Mainly pre-1980. I like old westerns directed by John Ford and the films of Alfred Hitchcock. Modern film directors I like are Martin Scorsese, David Lynch and Philip Kaufman.

Books:

Anything that says something new and different.
