If you are gonna rock... rock hard !!

About Me

If you dont feel like reading my entire bio, then currently I have been playing with JFK and since 1992, and the Forward Control Band since 2003. Also, I just started playing acoustic shows with Jim of JFK. www.jfkrocks.com www.forwardcontrolband.com.

The music on this page is stuff that I recorded at home between 1987 and 1991 on a four track, in which I play all the instruments. Some of them were written as early as 1982. I will do my best to harvest and re-master all this music so everyone can hear it. Nobody cared about recording quality back then and nobody had the $ either. At least I didn't.

Since I only play part time you are not going to get a lot of original songs out of me but you will get enough. I have played with mostly cover bands, but wrote/ co-wrote 3 to 20 songs with each band for 24 years. So I guess that is quite a bit. Here goes...

Wheeling, WV / Bridgeport, OH hard rock group Decibel, later Rage, later Slander (writing 1 song and co-writing 2 others that eventually went to Screamer) from 1982 to 1984; and recorded many attic tapes. Chet Miller, Mike Thomas, Chuck McPherson, Tim Porter, and Rich Kinkade will know what I mean!.

Prominent local cover band DB Rocker from 1984 to 1987; wrote 3 songs, co-wrote 3 and recorded 2 of them at in Chaz Palmers cabin near Dillies Bottom by Dante Battestelli and Chaz with Fred Ludavicci singing and Eric Stadler on bass; 2 songs in a rented American Legion recorded by John Williams with Scot Edgell singing; and 2 songs at Terry Seachrest studio. I also recorded and played 2 of Terrys country/rock songs.

Athens based modern acoustic/electric rock band The White Orphans, 1987 recorded 2 of my original songs in the basement of an Ohio University dorm.

Athens based female vocalist band Magnatude from 1987 to 1989; released the 8 song demo The Real Thing recorded at Ohio University.

Athens based all-original folk/ alternative/ rock band Evolution from 1988 to 1992; wrote/co-wrote 20 or so songs and releasing 11 songs on Walk Through The Woods recorded in the singers cabin in Wayne National Forest, and reformed to record the 3 song female vocal demo Mostly Harmless and single epic instrumental Alienation with the addition of a violin/fiddle player, both recorded at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH. These all feature Phil Wakulchik on guitar and Chuck Stanton on bass, which he is the driving force of Evolution. Currently some recordings are brewing with Evolution that will go to Nashville.

Popular local cover band JFK from 1991 until 1998 and reuniting in 2000 to present; recorded a 2 song demo of Joe Hesskes songs at Studio L by Rick Witkowski with original and current bass player Randy Byrne and original drummer Jim Ebert, a video of Who You Gonna Turn To recorded at Techno-Media by Joe Jacobs and Mike Ofca with bass player Jesse Britton, and releasing the 1996 self-titled CD JFK recorded at Aardvark Productions and engineered by Mike Ofca. Jim Berze on vocals, Joe Zelek on drums and Rich Kinkade on bass. Randy Byrne quit and did not get to record, and Joe Hesske wrote and co-wrote some of these songs but did not get to record because he moved to Indiana.
