Modern Warfare in its finest hour....

About Me

With a Vengeance could possibly be one of the best ways to describe the return of one of the Ohio Valleys best hard rock acts. It all began in the summer of 2005 when Lead guitar player Bill Edgar and long time friend Greg Vasey (current bass player of STEPDOWN) decided that they wanted to create a hard rock act that would devestate and destroy the average listener. "It was hard to find qualified people who were wanting to do the same type of music that we wanted to do."states Edgar. At a time when Metal thrived in the area it just seemed that finding the right people was a lose-lose situation. The search began and after a long and grueling try-out period Edgar and Vasey had finally found someone to fit the bill. Singer/ Vocal frontman Jeremy Wright was added to the lineup in summer of 2005. Wright had previous experience singing for multiple bands in area but at the time had been searching himself for "something different". The Edgar/Vasey project had been the solution to what he was searching for.
The second solution was a need for a solid drummer to fit the position. For two years Edgar and Vasey had been working on building their "assault on the homefront" but had failed in finding the right people to fill the position. After countless hours and two lineup changes Jim Copley joined Edgar, Vasey, and Wright to fill the drum position.
For the remainder of the next year a full blown epidemic of hard rock swept the Ohio Valley. "It was crazy. Everything was moving so fast, and at the same time we were really evolving as a band." states Wright.By the end of 2007 STEPDOWN had more than proved to be the "assault on the homefront" by packing nearly every venue they played and reaching a fan base that stretched throughout the Ohio Valley itself. For Vasey and Edgar STEPDOWN had proven to be exactly what the two had envisioned. Unfortunately the success of the band would be short lived. In the summer of 2007 drummer and long time friend Jim Copley gave in his notice to the band. Copley had received a job opportunity in Columbus that he could not pass.
Bad timing, poor circumstances and a once again ever changing drummer lineup change had hit the band. At the same time defeat was not an option for Edgar, Vasey, and Wright. "We knew we had to keep pushing and fill the position fast. We had a so many people who wanted to hear what we were capable of and so many loyal fans that were waiting to hear more from us." states Wright. In September of 2007 Luke Tenley (former drummer of Tormented) was added to the bill. Tenley and Wright had been friends for years but given the circumstances had never been given the chance to play in a band together. Finally an opportunity had come about. Just one year prior to joining, Tenley had been taking lessons from Cleveland’s very own Adols Herrick (former Roadrunner Records affiliate and Drummer for Chimaira) and was itching to get his skills onto the stage. In November of 2007 the lineup had been finalized...
