The name Vyanah will ring a bell to many. This artist has released his music worldwide through various compilation albums where his music was accompanied by the likes of Enigma, Vangelis, Enya, Adiemus a.o.
Vyanah has build quite a reputation for himself with his popular atmospheric new age sound. His music is selected for taste making and high profile TV advertised CD series such as Spirits Of Nature, Highlands and Celtic Myst, just to name a few gold status albums. His music can be found on more than a million sold albums.
The enigmatic Vyanah, originally from The Netherlands, is a true citizen of the world. His music career took off during the 80’s performing in a new wave band called Casual Affairs as a drummer and bandleader. They released several singles which charted the Dutch Top 40. In search of new music and the constant urge to develop himself Vyanah decided to move to London, the epicentre of the new wave movement.
There he lived between people who would spend their last money on music instead of food. This made a huge impact on him, it is from that day that Vyanah decided to dedicate his life to music and always reach for the highest possible quality.
In the beginning of the next decade Europe became widely infected by the dance-virus. Which resulted in a fast development of electronic instruments. In this period Vyanah experimented with dance music crossing over to atmospheric sounds. His early creations would be referred today as Goa-Trance.
Again Vyanah wanted to be part of this new thing which was going on. Besides his many trips abroad he spent a few years in Berlin becoming a prominent member of the music and arts scene.
Right in the middle of the hectic of the early nineties he yearned for the opposite electronic music and this is when he fall in love with New Age.
Accompanied by his close friend Wouter Kronenberg, who is a hot shot producer of theatrical shows nowadays, he started to give concerts where the audience had to lay down with their eyes closed and listen to their esoteric music.
In this stage of his career he meet Yvo van Koppenhagen who runs the creative music company Vulcanic Music and they started on releasing Vyanah’s music. His music featured on many international TV advertised compilations albums worldwide. At this period he gained so much attention that an compilation album couldn’t do without his music.
All TV commercials featured the names of the usual suspects like Enya, Deep Forest, Enigma, Vangelis and even Vyanah who in fact had not released a full length Vyanah album yet.
This is why the name Vyanah rings a bell.
Vyanah is addicted to music and fuses many genres to create his own style. When producing under his Vyanah alter-ego he creates pleasant and original music that excites your imagination.

“When I produce my music it is like walking through a huge white landscape where I colour all the things I see. I want my music to sound very colourful and emotional. Especially for the kind of music I produce I think people just need to listen to it instead of reading about my life and the things I do. It blurs the thing that my work is about.
