About Me

About me:
EAST L.A. PREMIERE @ CINE SIN FIN ON 11/9/07!
Logline:A writer/working stiff chases after a mysterious woman haunting him throughout the day, only to find that he’s the one who’s being stalked.Production Notes:A fan of Charles Bukowski’s poetry, the Twilight Zone, Film Noir and French New Wave, writer Ricardo Acuña blended these disparate genres into a hybrid he calls 'existential horror’ and wrote the script to L.A. Noir. Executive producer Paul Huff was looking for good material and something off the beaten path, and he found it in L.A. Noir. Paul brought producer Jed Rhein on board, who then raised the money for the short film’s modest $9,000 budget. Dancers Cris Judd and Staci Flood were especially cast for the lead roles as only physical movement would reveal their characters in a film without dialogue. Up-and-coming director Conrad Jackson employed 16mm black & white reversal film to give L.A. Noir its gritty film noir look and feel, and used stylized shots and angles to punch up some of the more surrealistic elements. Conrad along with DP Conor Colwell also edited the film. Award-winning composer Ciarán Hope then paid meticulous attention to the juxtaposition of image, music and voiceover as he created a sound design to further convey the mood and mindset of the piece.L.A. Noir was shot on location in downtown Los Angeles over a 3-day weekend. L.A. Noir is the first short film for most of the cast and crew, and was made for the love of it.
