Sonlight is motivated and inspired to share God's word through their music and their own personal lives to bring a beam of light into a Dark Lost World, and to touch hearts and emotions and to change lives and bring joy and hope through God's Word to the listeners, for the Glory Of God.This is our vision and calling: to be effective and prosper in reaching the lost world and reconciling them to Christ.Please pray and support Sonlight which is our ministry, that God will use us and send us over the world and that Gods anointing and blessings will be on our lives and ministry.Rex is a male singer/songwriter, and a musician. Rex was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky but he grew up and spent most of his life in Louisville, Kentucky. In '69 Rex moved to Tampa, Florida where he joined his first band singing and playing bass guitar called The Telecasters, a Country rock and 50s band. The Telecasters open for a 50s group called The Platters, which had famous hits: Only You, The Great Pretender and many other hits of the 50s.Rex has been playing for many years and been in many bands. After several years Rex formed a band called Carolina, a country rock 50s band with classic rock. Carolina joined The Florida Country Music Association in '80, and appeared on a local television show called: The Tony DeCaprio Talent Showcase on channel 13 in Tampa, Florida, and The Earnie Lee Show, a morning local show on channel 13 in Tampa. In '94 Rex moved to Orlando, Florida. Rex has played many numerous venues: hotels, clubs, concert stages, radio programs WHJL radio in Orlando, recording studios, churches, and festivals.In '76 Rex decided to start singing and writing about Jesus , after he got saved at an Andre Crouch concert at JESUS '76 in Orlando. It was there that Rex turned his life over to Jesus and his life has never been the same.Rex has performed at numerous churches, coffee houses, jails and prisons; wherever God opens a door, Rex will go. Rex is a member of BMI, a writers affiliate that pays royalties on radio and television, and film. Rex is a member of IATSE a union that puts up concerts, theatre, film sets, and trade shows.Rex is a member of The Song Writers Association in Orlando, Rex's experience includes audio engineering , Television Camera, and live sound reinforcement. Rex has his own recording studio, and is a graduate of ARTI Audio Recording Technology Institute as a Audio Engineer. Rex has studied pro tools, recording, film, and television production; but his heart is playing for Jesus.Recently Rex has formed a new band "SONLIGHT" after recording his first CD "Clouds Of Glory" which will be released soon and he is planning on making a music video in the future. Recently SONLIGHT appeared at The Connection in Dallas, Texas at The DFW Hyatt Regency, hosted by Hearken Studios and Al Denson . SONLIGHT will be appearing at The Connection in Nashville, Tenn.
