After many, many years of bringing wonderful music to the airwaves CD101.9 Smooth Jazz NYC stopped transmitting due to what they say was a decline in listener ship.We must not let this happen. We must support our local radio stations and DJ's for they are the ones getting our music out to the masses.........Thanks Rafe for believing in us and putting 1Tribe on commercial radio without even being signed. For that we are forever grateful. All the best to you and those you love my Brotha!!!Well the past 7 months have been extremely interesting for 1Tribe.Unfortunately last April my Dad passed from his complications due to open heart surgery. He, like my Mom who also passed from heart related illness, will be missed immensely to say the least. This cd is dedicated to both of them. Some of the proceeds from the cd will be donated to The American Heart Association in their memory.Some of the proceeds from the cd will also be donated to The Tourette Syndrome Association as well. Song 4 Raymond, Track 13 on the cd, was inspired by a 15 year old, who I have been touched by thru his ongoing struggle with the disorder. More and more our children are being inflicted by these life changing disorders including Autism and Aspergers. So much is still unknown about these disorders so support for ongoing research is so needed.My friend, my buddy, Ed Reed you are "The Best!!" Thanks for being there for me and us. We could not of made such an incredible record without your vision and production talents. The production and engineering work by Ed is just first class. He is responsible for bringing all the 1Tribe elements together. When you have world class musicians coming together in one accord, you need someone with the vision, experience and expertise to pull it all together. Ed has done just that and we are forever grateful!! Can't wait to start the next record with him. Real World Records, Sony International, Arista Records, Motema Records, Bruno Record and others are just some of the labels considering 1Tribe for a possible label deal. This is an important year for us so stay tuned for updates.While the 1Tribe project continues to look for a label home, we continue to get recognition from prominent people in the industry:Rob Wunderman and Mario Constabile of The Vine Music Publishing Co. are taking our press kit to the Midem Music Conference in Cannes, France. Midem is the international trade show which gathers nearly 10,000 global music professionals from all sectors to do deals, network, learn, and check out new talent.Rafe Gomez prime time DJ on CD101.9 loved the cd and is putting 3 songs, Mom, Glider and Mi Corazon', into rotation on the station. With the major radio play starting to happen it's only going to help put 1Tribe on the launching pad towards major success. This is a real win for 1Tribe for major radio play usually follows after being signed to a label. Another indication on how the face of the music business has changed. Mom posted 01.19.08 and the others will be loaded over the next consecutive weeks. I will continue to send bulletins when we're going to be on.IK Multimedia has posted an article on me and the project. IK as you know is one of the leaders in software instruments and modeling software. They have chose to cross promote the cd because I used their products on the cd and they believe in the success of the project. Being that i also work for Guitar Center's Pro division GC Pro and sell and support their products, they have reciprocated by doing this cross promotion advertising. IK has some incredible products people so you need to get up on them to get your music sounding the best it can be. Sample Moog, SampleTank, T-Racks, SVX, Miroslav Philharmonic, Sonic Synth, Amplitube all are represented on the cd. Thanks to all the folks at IK who made this happen. Allan is and has been instrumental in producing and engineering some of the most popular hits in the industry to date. He has developed a reference monitor system used by the studio and by major artist/producers such ad Dr Dre. He said the cd sounded great and used some songs along with his own mixes during the show to give people a variation of sonic palates played thru his system.This coupled with the radio play on Rutgers and Brookdale College Radio is really spreading the interest in the project. The college radio play, commercial radio play and my IK Multimedia ad, has caused the hits and streams to go up on Myspace, iTunes, Rhapsody Music, emusic and other electronic downloading music websites where you can hear and purchase 1Tribe songs or the cd. This is all done thru Tunecore. For a small fee they post your music electronically and send you monthly statements showing the activity. www.tunecore.com.Zenergy Productions will soon have 1Tribe cd's for sale.
