Butter Party (aka. Michael Davies) spent the last two years lurking in the shadows of London, refining his production and DJing. Attentive punters may have noticed the occasional Butter Party track secretly slipping in to various DJ's sets over the course of the year. His music can been described as gritty, angry basslines with heavily swung beats to make you bounce.
So it was no surprise that he quickly came banging and smashing into the tech-funk scene (eyes shut and arms flailing wildly) with his debut double-header Wriggle/Fidget. These tracks were quickly snapped up by U&A Recordings, and since then it's been busy times for the buttery one, with an Elite Force remix in the pipeline, another original track Flipperbaby being signed to Bombtraxx Records, and a remix for the funky Frenchman Benjamin Vial out the door on Future Perfect.
Beyond producing tracks, he has also been DJing for the last two years, playing gigs in London and Melbourne, as well as putting out tech mixes on a regular basis. In 2007 he also started up a netlabel "Trickery Collective" with a friend to put out his lush downtempo electronica the way he wanted it, under the name Foreign System.

But seriously, what's with the name Butter Party? Well, it certainly represents the music - fat, messy, and a hell of a lot of fun.
