Hyperion smashed their way into the Australian clubbing consciousness with a jaw-dropping performance at the Elements party live electronica showcase in March 2007 and haven’t looked back since. Their blend of tech-funk breaks and progressive influences saw them score slots in support of General Midi and Chris Carter as well as headlining their own successful club nights in their home town of Brisbane. The pair haven't been radio shy either, with sets aired on Triple J's The Club and Dancenode Radio as the year progressed. But it’s in the studio where Maximilian Clarke and James Wall truly work their magic. Fusing breakbeat, tech funk, progressive and 90s electronica influences, the duo produce in a style unlike no other. With no two tracks following the exact same formula, Hyperion manage to keep each release distinct and unique, while at the same time all having a certain Hyperion air about them. Recently unveiling ‘The Acid Grind’/’Chapel Hill’ as a 12-inch release in 2007, the tracks have been played and charted by the likes of General MIDI and Elite Force. 2008 will see their followup 'On The Expressway' see the light of day on U&A Recordings, complete with Zodiac Cartel and General MIDI mixes. Also coming up is a tech funk remix of an old favourite Elite Force track for his mammoth 10 year retrospective release, the details of which will be announced soon...
