About Me

Anneleen Boehme has been breathing music ever since she was born (14/11/1989), as for both her parents are musicians. Thanks to her mother, Anneleen started playing the violin at an early age. Later on, she studied the violin with Eddy Desnyder. She also started the piano at the age of 6, studying with Hans Van De Walle. At the age of 12, Anneleen discovered the magic of the double bass. She started playing classical double bass with Caroline Beernaert and later on with Jan Verheye. At the same time she took combolessons with Werner Meert, and she studied jazz double bass with Wim Ramon and Janos Bruneel. Currently she is studying double bass at the Royal Academy of The Hague with teachers as Hein van de Geyn, Frans van der Hoeven and Uli Glassmann. She is playing with Kamarkechill (www.kamarkechill.be), Abbatoet and LABtrio with Bram de Looze (piano) and Lander Gyselinck (drums). The LABtrio recently won a first price on the Belgian contest 'Dexia Axion Classics'. She's also asked a lot to play in either orchestras and jazz occasions. She attended several jazz summer classes at Dworp (Belgium) with Stefan Lievestro, Pierre Vaiana and Mike Rossi.
