Hello, I play jazzpiano for 5 years now and I'm 17 years old. I started playing piano at the age of 6 when my grandparents bought me a little keyboard for my birthday (and I'm really grateful to them). My dad helped me by putting numbers on each key (C=1, D=2, E=3,...) so I could learn easy tunes with that little system:). A year later, my grandparents gave me a bigger keyboard and I started taking keyboardlessons for 4 years.At the age of 8 I also started lessons at the music academy of Knokke (AMV & classical piano). When I was 12 I decided to do jazz and until now my piano teacher is Werner Meert. I got combolessons from Wim Ramon, Hans Van Oost and Victor Da Costa. This year I started taking lessons with Christian Mendoza.In these 5 years that I have been playing jazzpiano I had private lessons from Nathalie Loriers and Bart Van Caenegem and I went 3 times to the Dworp summer jazz clinic where I could meet some great teachers like Christoph Erbstösser, Ewout Pierreux, Billy Hart, Mike Rossi & Pierre Vaiana and many others. The last time I met Basile Peuvion. Now we have a group called Momentum Jazz Quartet with Lennart Heyndels and Kem Heyndels. I also play with Anneleen Boehme and Lander Gyselinck and this trio is called 'LABtrio' and we recently won the first price on the Belgian contest Dexia Axion Classics.
