REVIEWS:As written by Frank Farian, March 2007 ‘Blame it on the Rain’ Fanzine"Not since Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus exploded on the music industry have I seen such talent packed into an entertainer. Whilst Palky has similar song writing and singing techniques as the aforementioned duo, what sets him apart is his stage performance. Only Alison Moira Clarkson can lay claim to perfecting this technique better than the greatest performer in the world today, Palky".As written by Joey Glastone, March 2007 Cut It Out."Palky is 50% Pop, 50% Rock and 50% Awesome. Throw is a bit of fun and that adds up to one whole lotta of Palk."As said by Molly Meldrum, April 21 2007 on Sunrise Channel 7."Do Yourself A Favour"(It has not been confirmed if Molly was actually talking about Palky, rumours have it at Palk HQ that it was Palky but some suggest he may have said 'Pink' and we just misheard). As written by Steve Fosbury, December 2006 Rolling Stone."Ben is a beckon of light in these dark times. With the end to the war on terror nowhere in sight, the ravages of the drought taking hold, his rich soulful sound combined with his sharp, enticing, thought provoking lyrics it maybe just the distraction we need. The noise of his guitar can only be described as one of the worlds most beautiful sounds. He is one of this generations’ great musicians. Ben Harper is a true genius.""What do you mean I'm supposed to be writing about Ben Palk ... who the hell is Ben Palk?"I think that says everything about Palky that needs to be said ... don't you?
In Palky's Own Words:I write songs about my 3 favourite things - life, love and the love of life. I do all this on my acoustic guitar. I try to be heartfelt, I try to be honest and I just try to be the best damn songwriter I can be - when I play I hope that comes across. My songs reflect who I am - they always try to reflect how I feel, how I want to feel or need to feel. They talk about me whether I want them to or not – it always comes out in the end. They are about me, my life, my loves and my world. I try and put in a little bit of quirky too. So I guess that is who I am.Music is the best thing in life - it improves every situation (except when you are trying to park or looking for a house and then it is just irritating). It makes good times great, sad times mean something more and quiet times exciting. Songs and love mean everything to me, they are not mutually exclusive but they are not one and the same. I.."m not sure who I would be without them. Finally, if nothing is going right with a song I always go by the rule – if it is not what you want it to be then play it faster and louder and it will become what it has to be and that is ROCK!
