Mere Theory are proud to announce they have signed to Melbourne label Boomtown Records, and that their debut album, ‘Catalan Atlas’ is scheduled for release September 1.
It’s been a long time coming, but Mere Theory has finally found the missing pieces to their puzzle. With addition of new vocalist Chris Mellow, and the ear for quality that producer Richard Stolz brings to his recordings, the album Catalan Atlas brings together everything the band has learnt and experienced in their career into an album that has the scope and journey you would expect from the band.
Having released their Disengage EP in 2004, Mere Theory made an appearance at the Adelaide Big Day Out, received Triple J rotation with their single You Will Never Win and took home the 2006 Emily Burrows Award from APRA in recognition of their talent and hard work ethic (previous winners of the award include Hilltop Hoods in 2002 and Pharoahs in 2005). 2006 and much of 2007 has seen the band take a break from their schedule to write and record their debut album in Melbourne.
Now, Mere Theory is proud to announce their signing to Boomtown Records and the release of their debut album 'Catalan Atlas' on September 1st, 2007. The album will feature 11 tracks including a newly recorded version of You Will Never Win, and the lead single from album, Gracefully.
