Peter Youngand Justin Samuels were detained by Wisconsin deputies in 1997 after a number of successful ALF mink farm raids. They were indicted in 1998 by a federal grand jury and went underground shortly thereafter. Justin Samuels was arrested in Belgium in 2000 and turned states evidence against Peter, despite having considerable support from the activist community. Peter was apphrehended in 2005, after 7 years on the run. Peter was convicted, with the help of Justin Samuels testimony, and spent nearly 2 years in federal detention.
